New pilot program pairs Bayou City expertise
with ffA's world leading technology

In a pilot project launched in Spring 2006, Bayou City is partnering with Deeside Energy LLC ("Deeside") to accelerate generation of high quality prospects from Bayou City's extensive data library. The project applies world class 3D software technology to improve delineation and de-risking of leads and reduce interpretation cycle time.

Deeside is a joint venture between Wood Roberts LLC, an investment banking and corporate finance firm with special expertise in oil and gas ventures (www.woodroberts.com), and ffA, a world leader in 3D seismic image processing technology for exploration and development of oil and gas fields (www.ffa.co.uk). The joint venture provides Bayou City with quality-assured 3D subsurface information.

The pilot project is focused on select Bayou City data sets in South Texas. ffA technology enables rapid, detailed and objective reconnaissance of the seismic data, giving Bayou City:

  • subsurface information of industry leading quality;
  • the ability to evaluate 3D seismic data many times more quickly than conventional 3D interpretation techniques allow;
  • a conspicuous edge in quickly identifying lower-risk prospects, leasing acreage before our competitors and attracting drilling partner investors;
  • the potential to achieve and sustain higher drilling success rates.

Advanced 3D Seismic Image Processing

ffA's innovative 3D seismic image processing technology enables rapid and objective extraction of comprehensive subsurface information from volumes of seismic data without manual pre-interpretation.

Over the past 10 years majors, national oil companies and senior independents have proven the value of ffA technology in challenging exploration, development and production scenarios worldwide.

Frequently ffA results identify significant geological features, such as potential reservoir bodies and complex faulting and fracturing, that are fully consistent with well data but may be overlooked in the conventional interpretation process.

ffA subsurface information volumes can be directly integrated into industry standard 3D interpretation-, reservoir modelling-, and well planning workflows to increase productivity and enhance the quality of critical decisions.
